Moissanite, explained

What is moissanite?
Moissanite is its own gemstone — lab-created silicon carbide with a Mohs hardness of about 9.25. It is a brilliant diamond alternative, not a diamond and not a "lab-grown diamond." Each stone is selected for fire, clarity, and lasting everyday wear.
Is your moissanite real? Is it a diamond?
It is real moissanite — a genuine lab-created gemstone (silicon carbide) set in real 925 sterling silver. It is a diamond alternative (simulant), not a diamond, and we never call it a lab-grown diamond.
Will a moissanite pass a diamond tester?
Some thermal diamond testers may read moissanite as diamond because it conducts heat similarly. Specialized moissanite or dual testers, and professional gemological testing, reliably tell them apart. Moissanite is its own gemstone, not a diamond.
Does moissanite get cloudy over time?
No. Moissanite does not get cloudy or lose its sparkle. If it ever looks dull, that is usually lotion, oils, or everyday film — clean it gently with a soft cloth and mild soapy water to restore the shine.
How is moissanite different from cubic zirconia (CZ)?
Moissanite (silicon carbide, Mohs ~9.25) is harder, more brilliant, and far more durable than cubic zirconia (Mohs ~8–8.5), which can scratch and dull over time. Moissanite keeps its sparkle through daily wear.
What does "1ct" mean for moissanite?
We describe carat as the diamond-equivalent size (often shown as CTW). Because moissanite weighs slightly less than a diamond of the same dimensions, a "1ct" moissanite is about the size of a 1-carat diamond rather than its exact weight.
What carat size should I choose?
For everyday wear, 0.5–1ct stays subtle and comfortable; 2–3ct reads as noticeable, date-night sparkle; 5ct is a true statement. All are set in 925 sterling silver.

Materials & care

What metal is your jewelry made from?
Every piece is 925 sterling silver, rhodium-plated to add shine and help resist tarnish.
Does sterling silver tarnish?
Sterling silver can tarnish over time. Our rhodium plating helps resist it. To keep pieces bright, store them dry, avoid water, lotion, and perfume, and buff gently with a soft polishing cloth.
Will it turn my finger green?
It should not. Green marks come from copper in some alloys reacting with skin, lotions, or moisture. Our rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver reduces this, and keeping pieces dry and clean helps further.
Can I shower or swim in it?
We recommend taking pieces off before showering, swimming, or the gym. Water, soap, chlorine, and sweat can dull sterling silver and plating over time. Store dry to keep the sparkle.
Is it OK for sensitive skin?
Our pieces are 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating. If you have sensitive skin, check the materials and avoid wear if you react to silver alloys or plating. We do not currently claim a nickel-free composition.
How should I care for my jewelry?
Store your pieces dry and away from direct sunlight, remove them before swimming, showering, or using lotions and perfumes, and gently buff with a soft polishing cloth to keep them bright.

Pricing & gifts

Why is moissanite jewelry under $100 so affordable?
Because moissanite is its own lab-created gemstone — not a mined or lab-grown diamond — and we set it in 925 sterling silver rather than gold, then sell directly. You get real sparkle and a real silver setting for an everyday price.
Is moissanite a good gift under $100?
Yes. Stud earrings (from $21) and dainty pendant necklaces are easy, wear-anywhere gifts, and a 1ct solitaire is a classic for anniversaries and milestones — all 925 sterling silver, all under $100.
